Ashraya Foundation for Children, Pune

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the valuable training session on Cooperative Learning conducted by Mr. Payam Shoghi from Amharta Educare in June 2024. The sessions were insightful, engaging, and highly practical.

Throughout the academic year, our educators have implemented several cooperative learning structures introduced during the training, such as pair-discussion-share , pair-discussion, think-pair-share , group-discussion-share, group-discussion, round robin, whole class ‘no hands’ structure, and class discussion. These structures have made a noticeable difference in our classrooms.

Key Outcomes and Observations:

  • Increased Student Engagement: We have observed a consistent increase in student participation and engagement during lessons.
  • Gradual Improvement in Group Work: While students initially found it challenging to work in pairs or groups, regular practice has helped them develop the confidence and skills to collaborate, discuss, and present their ideas effectively.
  • Established Routines: The use of practices like starting discussions from the left, quiet signals, and community circles have become part of our classroom culture, extending beyond lessons to cultural events and meetings within AIC.
  • Enjoyment of Cooperative Games: Students and educators alike have enjoyed cooperative storytelling and word/number string games, which have added an element of fun while reinforcing teamwork and language skills.

The training has played a key role in building our educators’ confidence in using Cooperative Learning strategies and has equipped them with practical tools to promote teamwork, active participation, and deeper learning. We look forward to continuing to strengthen the cooperative learning culture across our classrooms.
